Area 53 - Photo 31 - The Fecteau Family

This week is two firsts for me.
One: My pic of the week is my first attempt to take photographs of somebody's pregnant belly.
This is my buddy and his girlfriend as well as their three year old son's hands all on the daughter to be. I like the fact that the whole family is touching each other at the same time, a family unit.
Two: This is the first time I'm posting a pic I took with my iPhone.
The phone doesn't take bad pictures, and it's all I had with me in the way of a camera at DTE Energy Music Theatre. I liked it better in black and white, maybe since there was no colour images in the car's day.
Last but not least is technically another first for me, it was the first time I've ever gone to a baseball game and it never actually began due to inclimate weather.
The rain had passed but the lightning persisted, this panaramic is taken before we headed back to Canada.
Thanks for checking them out.
See you next week.

Area 53 - Photo 30 - Straight From The Point

My wanderings took me to Point Pelee this weekend for an overheated afternoon.
Photo 30 is literally 'straight from the point', or what's left of it.
All I can say is you sink so damn fast in the sand at the tip it's ridiculous.
The second photo is facing the tip, and the rest are a few from the day as well as a shot of a field of hay bails I stopped to take during the drive home, and a couple macros of a butterfly and a dragonfly. I've got to admit, that Dragon is pretty fly, lol...and its eyes are crazy.
I hope you like em.
Cu next week.

Area 53 - Photo 29 - Itsy Bitsy GIGANTIC Spider & CBGB's Rocks On!

This past week I was still in NYC and came home to start learning how to use the macro feature in the my newly purchased lens.
With that being said, I have two pics of the week this week.
1. The spider next to a bolt on my front porch.
2. Panaramic of the original wall inside CBGB in New York, framed behind glass (for historic purposes) inside what is now John Varvatos.
The others are an assortment all from NYC, including, a front panaramic of John Varvatos (CBGB) and The Jim Morrison Hotel, The Dakota where John Lennon lived, this is the exact spot he was murdered in 1980, the second is the Imagine Circle memorial to Lennon inside Strawberry Fields across the street from The Dakota in Central Park, and the third is taken of Dakota from Strawberry Fields.
The others are a cool neon sign for a music store outside Times Square, a shot Liberty Island on the boat ride in, and a panaramic of Yankee Stadium.
Enjoy.

Area 53 - Photo 28 - Lady Liberty

As may or may not be clearly obvious, I'm in New York City.
I got here on Saturday over Independence Day weekend, it has been amazing, and of all things I got my fill of Canadian Independence as well when I saw the Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.
Last night was a late night after numerous long days and I didn't have any time to go through any of the numerous photos I've taken since I got here, but I think this is a good start.
My photo of the week is a panaramic of the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of independence and freedom.
The rest are a panaramic from the Faith No More concert last night in Brooklyn, I took it with my little handheld camera since it's all I could sneak into the show, it's the Manhattan skyline at sunset. There are a couple of Radio City Music Hall at night, a panaramic of the Great Hall in Yankee Stadium, the entrance to Ellis Island, and last but not least, a shot of the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks on the Hudson River taken from New Jersey.
I hope you enjoy, and you'll be sure to see more New York photos next week.
Ciao for now.
